Dear Backers,

We are thrilled that so many of you backers are still happy with your Stingray Non-stick Frying Pans. We have another project for you. Join us on another journey together.

NEW KICKSTARTER LAUNCH - ELECTRIC SHARPENER

We have just launched a new Electric Sharpener project on Kickstarter, the Diamond Electric Sharpener. Here is a sharpener out of the extraordinary.

The Diamond Electric Sharpener is a stylish, user-friendly and premium quality sharpener. The secret is the combination a powerful electric engine and diamond grit sharpening wheels. The diamond wheels are hard enough to sharpen ceramic knives.

Independently tested by CATRA, the world's leading testing institute for knives and sharpeners, it significantly outperformed a popular competitor and came close to the benchmark CATRAsharp, retailing for USD 1200.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR PANS

Some backers have requested advice on how to best care for the pans and whether they need to season the pans before use.

The short answer to the second question is that non-stick pans do not need seasoning. They are ready to use as they are. However, it is prudent to wash them in soap before the first use.

There are a few golden rules to take care of your pans:

1. NEVER OVER-HEAT THE PAN - Never heat your pan to more than to 230 °C | 440 °F.  Higher temperatures will destroy the non-stick coating. Our Ilag Professional coating can sustain 250 °C for shorter periods, but it is not advisable if you want the non-stick coating to last long. Do not leave the pan heating empty on a stove for more than 5 minutes at high temperatures.

2. NEVER USE METAL UTENSILS - Never use metal utensils as turners with a non-stick pan. Ilag Professional is more resistant to scratching than most other coatings, but they will still scratch. It may be tempting to use a metal fork to turn a steak. Please do not, as it may scratch the coating. This is why we developed the Stingray Silicone Turner.

If you forgot to add our new Silicone Turner, we will be selling them on our website www.edgeofbelgravia.co.uk

3. DISHWASHER - In theory, it is ok for non-stick coated objects be cleaned in the dishwasher, but this is not recommended. It may shorten the service life over time.

Sadly our cargo did not make it on to the ship as planned, but left Yantian Port on 25th May on board OOCL Scandinavia. Sorry if you have been tracking the old ship for some time. We did not want to make a new update until we were 100% sure of the right ship.

OOCL Scandinavia is currently passing the southern tip of Sri Lanka and heading at full speed for the Suez Canal. You can track her below. She will arrive to Felixstowe Port, United Kingdom, on 17th June, so please add seven more days to our previous estimate.
