As always, we are thankful for your support. 

SHIPPING DELIVERY DATE - MARCH 2020

We have recently started to receive some messages from backers regarding the shipping date. It seems that we have not been clear enough. As we announced two updates ago - Update 11 - the revised delivery  date is end of March 2020. 

As explained in that update, the tooling time for the accessories such as the lid, the hanger, the turner etc is taking longer than expected. We have just received pre-production samples, but we are still having an issue with the lid handle before we can launch bulk production. We are optimistic that we will find a solution for this. 

There are no issues with the pans themselves. They look fantastic and they feel great to cook with! This is really a great product and you have secured it at a fantastic price. 

We will keep you updated. Our aim is to complete all bulk production before the Chinese New Year in January.

PRODUCTION UPDATE + GOOD NEWS!

Dear Backers, 

We hope that you are well. 

This is an update to provide you with a few pictures from the bulk production process and also share some good news. 

BULK PRODUCTION

The bulk production of your Stingray pans is progressing well. The bottom part in black is a layer of stainless steel which enables the pans to operate on an induction hob. Induction hobs rely on magnetism to transfer heat. Aluminium is not magnetic. Hence the stainless steel part is necessary to achieve this. The hexagon shape for this bottom plate is unique and we had to open special tooling to be able to produce it. 

SANDBLASTING

We are also pleased to inform you that  the factory has successfully started to prepare the first layer of the non-stick coating. It is a form of sandblasting which ensures that the outer layers attach properly to the pan. 

EUROPEAN DESIGN AWARDS - GOLD WINNER

We are equally pleased to inform you that the Stingray Non-Stick pan collection won GOLD in the 2019 European Product Design Awards in the Home Appliances category. We proudly note that the Stingray also won SILVER and BRONZE in the Home Interior and Kitchen Accessories categories. This seems quite the record!

BACKERKIT UPDATE - SHIPPING UPDATE

Dear Backers, 

We thank you for your unfailing support and we are thrilled by your excitement for the new Stingray pan collection. 

BACKERKIT

We thank those of you who have already checked out on Backerkit and send a kind reminder to the 20% of backers who still have not done so. If you have not found the link, please check in your junk folders. It is important that you check out in order for us to have your details and preliminary shipping address. 

Checking-out on Backerkit is also an opportunity to add more items, such as our exciting new spatula series or add a small 9in | 25cm lid or hanger to your collection.

TOOLING STARTED - NEW TIMELINE

As we received the funds from Kickstarter we immediately opened the tooling for the new lids and the silicone turners. We introduced the lids following numerous backer requests. Unfortunately the time for opening the lid tooling is 60 days. This delays our production schedule sadly. 

In addition, based on our current experience with fulfilling the Shiroi Hana campaign, we note our initial shipping timeline was too optimistic. As we were planning to deliver before Christmas, which is a very busy time shipping-wise, and considering the importance of the delivery if a Christmas gift, we would like to be transparent and open with you early on. Delivery before Christmas will not be a realistic target, sorry. 

NEW DELIVERY DATE - MARCH 2020

We also want to make sure that we have 100% quality control in the process. To rush the factory during their busiest time is not a great idea. 

We will try to complete production and shipping as soon as possible, but a realistic estimate at this point is March 2020. 

If you plan to move before then, that is not a problem. You will be able to log in and change the address on Backerkit before we ship out. 

You will be informed of every step in this process. We will try to be as transparent as possible. 

ILAG NEWS

We have discussed the project with Swiss Ilag. They are thrilled that so many of you backed it and that you will be the first to have the new Ilag Professional coating.

We have been working on setting up Backerkit. It is almost ready to launch. We are currently performing final testing to ensure that it has been set up correctly.

HANGING SOLUTION INTRODUCED!

Dear Backers, 

Some of you have requested a hanging solution for your Stingray pans. We have listened and we are in the process of developing a hanging hook that will be available as an add-on. 

HANGING HOOK

The Idea is that it hooks into the space between the pan and handle. The angle makes it easier to grip the pan compared to a cook at the end of the handle. 

HOOK - SIDE VIEW

The hook has an extended back part which makes it more secure when hooking it into your existing rail. 

Any comments or feedback is appreciated. 

We are still waiting for Kickstarter to give us clearance to send you the Backerkit link, but this should be completed the end of next week hopefully.
